Sudbury’s École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur student parliament recently presented the Zawadi la Tumaini Children's Home in Nairobi, Kenya with a cheque for $762.75.
“Congratulations to Sacré-Coeur students for their generosity and desire to contribute to the betterment of society in other countries,” a press release from Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario said.
Zawadi la Tumaini was found in 2013 by Sudburian Jacqueline Villeneuve, when she was just 18 herself. It supports 22 children and youth that have been orphaned or abandoned.
