Thank you! Levack kids craft chalk message for water bombers fighting forest fire

Worried by the sight of smoke, the sight of water bombers came as a relief

Magalie Blais of Levack sent Sudbury.com these great photos of a handful of kids who were so grateful to see water bombers flying overhead.

Blais said Braedon Roney, Avery Roney, Kolby Dusick, Jayden Dusick and Hannah Brooks — along with the rest of Levack/Onaping Falls — just wanted to say thank you to the firefighters, FireRangers and MNRF staff who fought to get control of the fire near Levack a week ago.

“The kids were worried when they saw the smoke and calmed down after seen the water bombers,” Blais told Sudbury.com. “We had the chance to take them over to Windy Lake to watch them grab more water.”

The kids got out their sidewalk chalk and drew a huge “Thank you” across Church Street in Levack in hopes the pilots would see it while flying over.

Way to go, kids!
