Ontario has released the annual Sunshine List for 2020, highlighting the public sector workers making more than $100,000 a year.
Sudbury.com reporters are parsing the data now, but in the meantime, here’s the top 10 earners in Greater Sudbury paid from the public purse.
The top earner was Health Sciences North president and CEO Dominic Giroux who was paid $381,287.
In second spot are Dr. Sarita Verma and Dr. Roger Strasser, the current and former heads of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, who both were paid $358,585 in 2020.**
Rounding out the top three is Dr. Penny Sutcliffe, the medical officer of health for Public Health Sudbury & Districts, was paid $347324.
The remainder of the top 10 breaks down like this:
4. Dr. Mark Henderson, chief of cardiology at HSN, earned $311,538
5. Mark Hartman, HSN senior VP of patient experience and digital transformation: $290,809.82
6. Max Liedke, HSN senior VP and COO: $290,809.81
7. Ed Archer, CAO, City of Greater Sudbury: $287,700
8. Robert Haché, president and vice-chancellor Laurentian University: $280,013
9. Daniel Giroux, president of Collège Boréal: $267,093
10. Paul Pedersen, chief of Greater Sudbury Police Service: $265,664
