A couple of local kids’ hockey teams raised more than $500 for the Sudbury Food Bank recently.
During a Dec. 14 exhibition game, the Copper Cliff Reds U12 AA and the Sudbury Timberwolves U13A hockey teams raised $502.50 for the Sudbury Food Bank.
The Copper Cliff Reds team challenged the Sudbury Timberwolves to match a $150 donation, which they did without hesitation.
The remainder of the donations were raised through a 50/50 raffle.
“Thanks to all involved for helping to support those in need in our community,” said a press release sent out on behalf of the hockey teams.
