Sudbury's highest paid public sector employee, Dr. Randy Bissett, made $325,000 last year.
The chief executive officer at the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre's salary and those of other public-sector executives taking home more than $100,000 in salary, were made public at the beginning of April under the Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act.
Two other NORCC employees came pretty close. Radiation oncologist Dr. Hugh Prichard pulled in $302,751 while medical oncologist Dr. Farrok Karson made almost 308,000.
A total 19 employees at NORCC made more than $100,000.
The chief executive officer of the Sudbury Regional Hospital took home a good pay check last year. Vickie Kaminski's earnings were pegged at $199,903. Hospital chief of staff Dr. David Boyle earned almost $155,000.
Science North chief executive officer Jim Marchbank was the only employee at the tourist attraction to make more than $100,000. His salary last year was listed as about $134,000.
There were 14 people employed by the local school boards who made more than $100,000.
The director of the Sudbury Catholic District School Board in 2001, Bob Richer, earned a little over $126,000.
Rainbow District School Board director Gord Ewin had a salary of almost $137,000. Conseil scolaire du district du grand nord de l'Ontario (French public) director Marc Dionne earned a hair above $130,000 and the director of Conseil scolaire catholique du nouvel-Ontario (French separate), Helene Chayer had a salary of close to $138,000.
The president of College Boreal, Gisele Chretien had a salary of almost $119,000.
Six judges in Sudbury had earnings of a little over $174,000. Another employee of the Ministry of the Attorney General, director of Crown operations Thomas Fitzgerald, had a salary of about $183,000.
