As of today, March 17, all Tim Hortons restaurants will focus on take-out, drive-thru and delivery service (where available) and will close all dining room seating in most locations until further notice.

This as Ontario Premier Doug Ford declared a state of emergency Tuesday in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ordering the closure of bars and restaurants, except to provide takeout food or delivery.

“Today we are announcing significant measures to bolster national efforts to contain COVID-19 and protect and support restaurant guests, team members and the public in Canada,” said a statement published March 16 on Tim Hortons' website.

“Tim Hortons restaurants are gathering places for our communities across the country. As Canada’s leading restaurant brand, we have a responsibility not only to serve our guests – but to protect them and our team members during this uncertain time.

“Starting tomorrow, March 17, 2020, all Tim Hortons restaurants will focus on take-out, drive-thru and delivery service (where available) and will close all dining room seating in most locations until further notice.

“This is being done to contribute to social distancing that has been called for by public health officials. More information will be shared shortly about what this means for restaurant operational procedures.

“These measures will help us make a difference for the health and safety of the people we love, and the communities we live in and care deeply about, during this public health crisis.”
