Health Sciences North has decided to waive parking fees for all staff and physicians, as well as patients, until May 30 "as a small token of appreciation for their incredible efforts throughout the current pandemic," the hospital daily bulletin said Wednesday.

Staff and physicians who have prepaid for monthly parking will be reimbursed, the hospital said.

Parking lots at the Cancer Centre and across from the main entrance of the Ramsey Lake Health Centre will continue to be for patients only. Staff are reminded to continue to park in designated lots.

The hospital also announced it now has five admitted patients who have tested positive for COVID-19, one more than the previous day.

As previously reported, one patient was in ICU as of Tuesday, while the other three were being cared for in other in-patient units. Sudbury.com has asked but the hospital has not said if the fifth patient is in the ICU.

HSN also wants people to understand that it is safe to visit the emergency department at the hospital. If you have an emergency, don't avoid going to seek help.
