Yesterday, Ontarians officially had to start paying for eye exams, and it has the Nickel Belt MPP seeing red.

?Dalton McGuinty has turned a blind eye to protecting eye health for ordinary Ontarians,? she said. ?Starting today, all adults who need eye exams will have to start paying for eye exams with their credit card instead of their OHIP card.?

Before the delisting of eye exams, some physiotherapy and chiropractic coverage in the May provincial budget, Ontarians were entitled to a free eye exam every two years.

Delisting eye exams is another Liberal broken promise, says Martel.

?Dalton McGuinty has established two-tier eye care in Ontario ? one tier for Ontarians who can afford to pay for care out of their own pockets and a second tier for those who can?t.?
