That nasty bump (although if you were to hit it fast enough, you'd probably catch air, so "bump" doesn't do it justice) at the railway crossing on Barrydowne Road is finally getting repaired today.

Repairs to the CN rail crossing will close the inside northbound lane on Barrydowne today (June 16). One northbound lane will be maintained. Southbound traffic will not be affected. Flag persons will be on site, directing traffic.

Meanwhile, CN and CP will be conducting repairs to several rail crossings in Greater Sudbury in June and July. Although repairs will be done on weekends in each location, the work will require full road closures, the city said today.

This weekend, Kelly Lake Road will be closed from 6 a.m. on Saturday to 6 a.m. on Monday. Detour signs are posted. Residents are encouraged to find alternate routes.

And in other traffic news, paving on Paris Street at Maki Avenue will reduce northbound traffic to one lane today until 3 p.m. Both northbound lanes will be affected, but workers will switch between lanes throughout the day to maintain the flow of traffic.
