Traffic update: Lane closures for this week

Second Ave, Lorne, and Skead road all on tap for road work this week

Numerous projects get underway on Sudbury roads this week. Plan your routes to work accordingly. File photo

As part of the City's capital construction project, road rehabilitation and watermain improvements will start on Second Avenue, between Highway 17 East and Balsam Street, on Sept. 19 to the end of October. 

One lane of traffic will be maintained. 

Work will be done between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. 

Lorne Street, Sudbury:  Gas line service removal by Union Gas will close the westbound curb lane on Lorne Street, west of Regent Street, on Sept. 20.

Work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Skead Road, Garson: Paving operations will see lane reductions on Skead Road, Sept. 21 to 23. Work will be done from 7 a.m. to 7. p.m. 

Drivers are encouraged to plan for traffic delays. 

*Revised date* Kingsway, Sudbury: Shave and pave operations will result in intermittent lane closures overnight on the Kingsway, from Brady Street to Falconbridge, on Sept. 18 to 23. 

Work will be done between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. 

*Revised date* Elm Street, Sudbury: Curb replacements will close the inside lanes in both directions on Elm Street, between Paris Street and Durham Street, from Sept. 19 to 23. 

The northbound curb lane on Lisgar Street, at Elm Street, will also be reduced. Work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
