Two new forest fires found in the Sudbury area Friday

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry identified two new forest fires in the Sudbury area Friday, bringing the total number of active events in the Northeast region to three. 

The fire hazard remains high for the majority of the region, aside from some areas in the central and southern portions showing an extreme hazard.

Sudbury No. 21 was located on June 19 around 2:04 p.m. near Lake Panache and is currently being held at a size of 2 hectares. 

Sudbury No. 22 was located June 19 around 2: 55 p.m. near the French River, and is currently being held at a size of 1.7 hectares.

Kirkland Lake No. 1 was located on May 21 around 4:52 p.m. approximately 2-kilometres north of Belle Vallée and is currently being observed at a size of 15.8 hectares.
