United Way invites applications for funding

The United Way Sudbury and District is getting ready to disperse donations for 2006. Last year the United Way raised more than $1.4 million in support of 42 programs and services in the Sudbury district.

Last year the United Way raised more than $1.4 million in support of 42 programs and services in the Sudbury district.

Registered charitable organizations wishing to apply for a New Venture grant can contact United Way.

The funding application package must be completed and returned to the office at 1127 Bancroft Dr., second floor, Sudbury, P3B 1R6, by 4:30 pm, Friday, Sept. 23.

An information session will be held Monday, June 27, from 3 to 5 pm to assist in the application process. The announcement of funding will be made in January.

The United Way/Centraide is also seeking community-oriented individuals to serve as volunteers on citizens? advisory panels. These panels meet every year to assess funding applications and to ensure that community dollars are allocated to meet the emerging community needs in the Sudbury district.
