To celebrate International Women?s Day, Laurentian University?s presidential advisory committee on the Status of Women honoured the achievements of Helene-Louise Francis, Tannys Laughren, Gaétane Pharand, Dr. Mercedes Steedman and Pat Tobin last week.
Francis is a senior business analyst with Inco. Laughren is the executive director of the university?s Student General Association. Pharand has campaigned for the delivery of French-language services for women who are victims of abuse. Steedman is a social activist and Tobin is a defender of women?s issues.
