Update on school COVID-19 cases and school bus cancellations

Several new route cancellations to report

There was COVID-19 outbreak announced at St. Charles College on Nov. 16, and there are cases to report at three schools across Greater Sudbury, as well as Laurentian University.

An outbreak in a school is defined as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students or staff (or other visitors) in a school where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school.

New cases have been confirmed at Lively District Secondary School (one case), at Walden Public School (two cases) and at R.L. Beattie Public School. 

Laurentian University is also reporting two cases on campus.

Sudbury Student Services Consortium also reports new school bus cancellations due to COVID-19 exposure.

  • Exposure on the AM secondary/intermediate portion of bus Route L500 - The Route is cancelled and will resume Tuesday, Nov. 23. The affected schools are St. Benedict Gr. 7 and Gr. 8 and St. Benedict Secondary.
  • Exposure on the PM secondary/intermediate portion of bus Route L022 - The run is cancelled and will resume Tuesday, Nov. 23. The affected schools are St. Benedict Gr. 7 and Gr. 8 and St. Benedict Secondary.
  • Exposure on the AM elementary portion of bus Route L859 - The Route is cancelled and will resume Tuesday, Nov. 23. The affected schools are Walden, St. James and St-Paul Lively.
  • Exposure on the PM elementary portion of bus Route L872 - The Route is cancelled and will resume Tuesday, Nov. 23. The affected schools are Walden, St. James and St-Paul Lively.
  • Exposure on the AM secondary/intermediate portion of bus Route L855 - The Route is cancelled and will resume Tuesday, Nov. 23. The affected schools are Lively Gr. 7 and Gr. 8 and Lively Secondary.
  • Exposure on the PM secondary/intermediate portion of bus Route L857 - The run is cancelled and will resume Tuesday, Nov. 23. The affected schools are Lively Gr. 7 and Gr. 8 and Lively Secondary.
  • Exposure on the AM elementary portion of bus Route N413 - The Route is cancelled and will resume Tuesday, Nov. 23. The affected schools are Redwood and St. Anne.
  • Exposure on the PM elementary portion of bus Route N415 - The Route is cancelled for Redwood PS and will resume Monday, Nov. 22. The affected schools are Redwood and a few students from Foyer Jeunesse.
