Coniston resident David Belyea was travelling on Highway 69 South near Parry Sound when a fawn darted out onto the highway. It happened so quickly, Belyea had no time to react.
Belyea posted the video on Facebook and said he felt bad for the deer.
"If I could have avoided it I would have," he said in the comments section. "The only good thing was, it didn't suffer. She died immediately."
Belyea's truck, which was just two weeks old, received significant damage to the front end.
The dashcam footage shows just how quickly a highway collision can occur, and the importance of staying alert and avoiding distractions while driving.
