UPDATE: Saturday fire caused $500K in damage

Cause is still unknown, fire officials said Sunday

Update:

Saturday's fire began at 5:16 p.m. on South Lane Road in Sudbury. When trucks arrived on the scene, the house was completely engulfed in flames. The cause is unknown, fire officials said Sunday.

A total of 30 firefighters from six stations responded to the fire, which cause an estimated $500,000 in damage. Four people were evacuated.

Greater Sudbury Fire crews were at the scene of a house fire Saturday afternoon near McFarlane Lake.

Four stations responded to the fire, which is still not completely out. There were no injuries.

Firefighters drew water from McFarlane Lake because there are no hydrants in the area, the fire department said.

There's still no word on the cause or a damage estimate.
