Video: Lightning strikes bowling alley - uprooted trees do damage in Garson

Storm uproots two large trees, crushes truck and damages home in Garson

Cleanup has begun after a violent thunderstorm rolled through Greater Sudbury and surrounding area on April 27.

High winds ripped shingles off rooftops, sent lawn fixtures flying, uprooted trees and left more than 48,000 hydro customers in the dark.

Garson Bowl was struck by lightning just before the storm tore part of the roof off, flooding the bowling lanes below.

Watch as Sudbury.com brings you footage inside the bowling alley and hear from a homeowner whose home was hit by an uprooted tree and crushed her neighbours pickup truck in Garson.

Sudbury.com captured a timelapse video of the storm. Watch the hail, rain and thunder roll in to the downtown core in the video below.
