Video: School's out! So we asked these Sudbury kids what they hope to get out of summer

And it made our reporters jealous that they don't get the summer off

Today is the day, Sudbury parents! Students boarded their buses one last time during the 2017-2018 school year, returning home to the official start of ... summer vacation!

The ideas adults have about summer vacation differ only slightly from those that kids imagine: someone has to be responsible for the cost and planning that goes into the next eight weeks. All the same, everyone just wants to have fun.

With only a few hours left on the clock before bell time at Princess Anne School on Douglas Street, we asked Grade 3, 4 and 5 students, "What would a perfect summer vacation look like to you?"

While many noted the places they will go, nearly all seemed to be thinking about the special people in their life. The children are looking forward to spending more time with family, both near and far. Their responses are an adorable reminder of why we look forward to this every year.

Watch their responses in our video, and let us know how you and your children or grandchildren will be spending summer in our comments!
