All voting opportunities in the City of Greater Sudbury have closed, and officials are now tabulating results.

As of the latest update at 8 p.m., turnout had hit 42 per cent of eligible voters, according to the city.

Results will be posted online at electionresults.greatersudbury.ca as soon as they come in. The news team at Sudbury.com will be working to report on these results as soon as possible tonight.

The city’s tabulation of votes is expected to have already begun, which includes votes cast online and on advance voting days. Electronic voting results will be released online first, which  a city spokesperson said likely will not happen until approximately 9:30 p.m. Unofficial results from paper ballots will come much later that evening.

“Just a reminder that all election results are unofficial until they are declared by the city clerk,” according to the city. “While the declaration of official results is expected to happen on Tuesday, it could take longer if a recount is involved.”
