Wajax has acquired all the outstanding shares of NorthPoint Technical Services ULC.

NorthPoint is a national electro-mechanical services provider, serving a broad range of resource and industrial customers.

The firm specializes in the repair of rotating industrial equipment, including motors, generators, gearboxes, switchgear, transformers, pumps, fans and turbines, operating nine branches across Canada and employing approximately 177 people.

In Northern Ontario, NorthPoint has branches in Sudbury and Kirkland Lake.

In a Jan. 13 news release, Wajax said acquiring NorthPoint would allow the company to grow its engineered repair services (ERS) business with minimal overlap with existing Wajax locations.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome NorthPoint and its team of dedicated professionals to Wajax,” a said Wajax president and CEO Mark Foote in Jan. 13 news release.

“The addition of NorthPoint gives our ERS platform strengthened national coverage, complementing the expanded footprint we acquired with Groupe Delom in 2018 and allowing us to better serve our customers.”
