Walk through a winter wonderland to support the Northern Cancer Foundation

Trek for Cancer returns to Kivi Park Jan. 13

Dig out your mitts because the Northern Cancer Foundation (NCF) will be hosting their annual Trek for Cancer Showshoe Fun Run Sunday, Jan. 13, at Kivi Park.

This incredible fundraiser is the first of five fitness events to be held in 2019, as part of the Kivi Park Fitness Series - MOVE.

MOVE encourages Sudburians to get out and active at Kivi Park while supporting the Northeast Cancer Centre.

Trek for Cancer had a record turnout last year, raising over $100,000 for cancer care and research in the north. Future MOVE events include Cross Out Cancer Ski Loppet, Miner's Mayhem Mud Run, Shred Cancer Mountain Bike Classic and the Cancer Centre Walk/Run for Hope.

Nervous about snowshoeing? NCF assures us that if you can walk, you can showshoe, with three distances available to suit a variety of fitness levels. Registration starts at 10 a.m. while the Trek itself begins at 11 a.m.

Children 12 and under can participate in the 1K route for free or the 3K route for $5. The general public are able to register for the 1K, 3K, 5K and/or 7K for a fee of $35.

Adventure 365 will be renting showshoes on location Jan. 13 for a fee of $5.

Online registration is now available at www.ncfsudbury.com. Registration can also be done in person on Jan. 13 or over the phone by calling 705.523.HOPE (4673).
