Local organization Green Economy North is hosting a workshop on Jan. 23 to help Sudburians understand their hydro bills and find savings.

Green Economy North, Sudbury’s sustainability program for business, will host Understanding Your Hydro Bill at the TownePlace Suites at 1710 Kingsway, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will learn more about the charges on their bills, and where they can make changes that will save them money. The event is the latest in the program’s Sustainable Business Workshop Series, designed to support Sudbury businesses transition to the low carbon economy.

Presenters from Greater Sudbury Hydro, Hydro One, and the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce will share their expertise during the worskhop.

“We hear from our members: when the hydro bill comes, the profits go. Energy is not a luxury expense, and many business owners watch the costs increase and feel powerless. What many don’t know is there are some simple ways to cut back on these bills, saving money and reducing our community’s demand for electricity at the same time.” said Richard Eberhardt, Green Economy North's program manager, in a press release.

Tickets for the workshop are $30 and can be purchased online.
