Governor General of Canada, Julie Payette, posted a special Canada Day message today addressing COVID-19, current political tensions, and all those looking to bring positive change.

Video footage from a variety of sources was utilized for the message, including that of a recent series hosted by Sudbury.com called Tommy and his Mommy.

Tommy and his Mommy extended March Break/ school closure video series began in March after Sudbury.com reporter Heather Green-Oliver, like many, were forced to work from home following pandemic-related closures.

With hopes of helping others in a similar situation find ways to occupy their little ones, the videos centred around cool crafts, activities, and games appropriate for kids of all ages.

One activity was cutting Tommy's hair, and it happened to catch the attention of Payette it seems. The pair can be seen around one-minute into the nationally shared video posted by the Governor General this morning.
