A water main break close to Ramsey Lake and near Torbay Road and Second Avenue in Sudbury is resulting in disrupted water supply to a number of homes in the area, according to a Facebook post from the City of Greater Sudbury.

"Water from a 10 inch main was released on Lake Ramsey when the break occurred, and some debris has also landed on the lake," the post reads. "Residents are advised to stay away from that area of the lake for safety reasons as ice conditions may have deteriorated due to the release of water onto the ice.

City crews are currently assessing the situation. Due to the difficulty in accessing the area, there is no current estimated time of repair, but the City will provide affected residences with a bibbed water supply until the water main can be repaired."

Sudbury.com will continue to monitor the situation.
