UPDATE: Water service in the Regent Street area, from Austin Street to Martindale Road, has been restored following repairs to a break in a water service line.

Water lines are being flushed by the contractor. Please check water for clarity prior to starting dishwashers and washing machines. Discoloured water can be cleared by running a cold water tap.

A prolonged occurrence of discolored water and/or low water pressure should be reported to the City of Greater Sudbury by dialing 3-1-1.

Original story:

There's no water service on Regent Street – from Austin Street to Martindale Road – at least for the next few hours, Greater Sudbury has announced.

Repairs are expected to be complete in two to three hours, the city said in a news release.

“Once service is restored, water may be discoloured and can be cleared by running a cold water tap,” the release said. “Check water for clarity prior to starting dishwashers and washing machines.”

Affected areas also include Walford Road, from the area of Ramsey View Court to Regent Street; Anthony Street; Laval Street and Boyce Street.

If tap water is still discoloured or if a home's water pressure is low, residents are asked to call 311, the city's main number for service.

“The City of Greater Sudbury apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience.”
