GNO exhibitions
Ongoing
Once Upon a Time — Nicole Poulin runs until April 2 at Place des Arts. Her youth: the Flour Mill whispering freedom to her ears. Her games: avid discoveries among black outcrops. Her enchantments: reading all the children’s books in the local mobile library and taking dance classes at Le Centre des Jeunes. Sixty years later, visual art inhabits the inner garden of her childhood. It grows unbound. Her Flour Mill still flowers. Waterborne by Ron Langin launches March 20 at 5 p.m. The show then runs until April 25. Inspired by the undulating, rhythmic form of a piece of fabric abandoned beneath the waves of Lake Ontario, Langin creates a series of works emphasizing the interaction between the subject and his environment; light and shadow; transparency and opacity; reality and abstraction.
