Shopped out or not, the people of the City of Greater Sudbury want to know whatÂ?s open and whatÂ?s not during the Christmas holidays.

For those who wish to know when the LCBO and Beer stores are open, in order to replenish their stock, the following are their hours of operation:

The downtown liquor store on Cedar Street is closed Christmas and Boxing Day, reopens from 9:30 am - 6 pm Dec. 27, 12-4 Dec. 28, 9:30 am - 6 pm Dec. 29-31, closed New YearÂ?s Day and opens again Jan. 2, 2004 from 9:30 am - 9 pm.

The larger liquor stores such as the ones on Lasalle Boulevard and Algonquin Square, however, are open a little longer.

They are closed Christmas and Boxing Day, but reopen from 9:30 am - 10 pm Dec. 27, Dec. 28 from 12-6 pm, Dec. 29, 30 from 9:30 am - 10 pm, New YearÂ?s Eve from 9:30 am - 6 pm., closed New YearÂ?s and reopens from 9:30 am - 10 pm on Jan. 2, 2004.

The Beer Store on Lorne Street is closed Christmas and Boxing Day, reopens from 9:30 am - 10 pm Dec. 27, open 11 am - 5 pm Dec. 28, Dec. 29, 30 from 10 am - 10 pm., New YearÂ?s Eve from 9:30 am - 6 pm., is closed New YearÂ?s Day and reopens Jan. 2nd from 10 am - 10 pm.

On Friday and Saturday evenings the Lasalle outlet is open from 10 am - 11 pm.

Of course, youÂ?ll need money to buy that booze.

Holiday banking hours are as follows:

The Bank of Montreal is closed Dec. 25-28, but resumes regular business hours Dec. 29-30. It opens from 10 am - 3 pm New YearÂ?s Eve, is closed New YearÂ?s Day and Jan. 2, 2004 and reopens Jan. 3 from 10 am - 4 pm.

The Scotiabank, is also closed Dec. 25-28, opens again from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm Dec. 29, 30. It opens again from 9:30 am - 3 pm New YearÂ?s Eve, is closed New YearÂ?s Day and opens from 9:30 am - 5 pm. Jan. 2, 2004.

As for the malls, the Rainbow Outlet Centre (formerly City Centre) is closed Christmas and Boxing Day, reopens from 9:30 am - 5 pm. Dec. 27, and is open from 12-5 Sunday, Dec. 28. Regular hours return from , 9:30 am - 5:30 pm Dec. 29-31. The mall is closed New YearÂ?s Day and resumes regular business hours Jan. 2.

The New Sudbury Shopping Centre is closed Dec. 25-26, but will open Dec. 27 from 9 am - 5 pm., Dec. 28 from 12-5 pm., Dec. 29,30 from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm., New YearÂ?s Eve from 9:30 am - 5 pm., but it will be closed New YearÂ?s Day and resumes regular business hours Jan. 2, 2004.

Greater Sudbury Police are asking members of the public to drive safely and take their time over the holiday as the highways and streets are usually very busy.

They are urging people to not drink and drive and warn there will be regular Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) programs out across the City of Greater Sudbury throughout the City of Greater Sudbury over the holiday season.
