Where?s the angel?

We forgive them for they know not what they did. Last week someone stole an angel from the front yard of a home in Minnow Lake. The three-foot white concrete angel has special meaning to the family, especially the two young children.

The three-foot white concrete angel has special meaning to the family, especially the two young children. The angel was blessed and given to the family to protect their home in memory of the childrenÂ?s grandmother who died last year. Anyone who has information about the angel is asked to phone 523-9810.

DonÂ?t worry, be happy: Residents of the 684 Bruce St., an apartment building in the Flour Mill managed by the Native People of Sudbury Development Corporation, didnÂ?t receive much sympathy from their landlord after the blackout Aug. 14.

Residents, mostly seniors, were told by the executive director, the Â?emergencyÂ? was not Â?that great.Â? He said authorities did not think turning on the power generator, which would have provided electricity to the lounge and a common cooking area, was necessary. He advised tenants they could have cooked their food on barbecues.

Only one tenant has a barbecue, according to family members who complained to Northern Life about the callous treatment their loved ones received.

Most residents are not eligible for Ontario Works reimbursement for lost food because they are pensioners.
