Wolves honour veterans with pre-game ceremony

Teams and fans pay their respect to Canada's veterans

The Sudbury Wolves hosted a Remembrance Day ceremony before their game with the Barrie Colts on Friday night.

The ceremony was a salute to members of Canada's Armed Forces past and present. Greater Sudbury mayor Brian Bigger and Nickel Belt MPP France Gélinas each gave their remarks, thanking those who have served in the Canadian military.

Wreaths were laid at the base of a cross by team captains Michael Pezzetta (Wolves) and Justin Murray (Colts), along with Northern Life publisher Abbas Homayed.

Northern Life was the sponsor for the evening's events.

The Sudbury Arena will be the venue for Greater Sudbury's Remembrance Day Ceremony on Nov. 11, starting at 10:30 a.m.
