Wolves lend a helping hand to city's homeless

Team members serve up a meal to kick off Coldest Night of the Year.

Members of the Sudbury Wolves helped kick off the fifth annual Coldest Night of the Year on Jan. 12 as the served up dinner and coffee for patrons of the Elgin Street Mission.

Team members Owen Gilhula, Owen Lane, Connor Ali, Drake Pilon, Darian Pilon, and Zack Bowman were all on-hand to serve up soup and sandwiches to some of Sudbury's poor and homeless.

This event served as the kickoff to the fifth annual Coldest Night of the Year, a walk benefiting the Samaritan Centre, that takes place on Feb. 25.

The goal of the fundraiser is to raise much-needed funds for the Samaritan Centre, while raising awareness regarding the issue of homelessness and poverty in Greater Sudbury.

The Coldest Night of the Year walk is a national event which takes place simultaneously in 118 cities across the country.
