Original story:

A worker was injured at an Interpaving Ltd. work site this morning, Sudbury.com has learned.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Labour, Janet Deline, says the injured worker was caught between a building and paving equipment, sustaining injuries to his lower body.

The worker was transported to hospital, but no further details on his condition are currently available.

An unconfirmed report received by Sudbury.com said the worker is an Interpaving foreman and the piece of equipment was an asphalt spreader, which broke both of his legs in the incident.

However, a spokesperson for Interpaving, who declined to be identified, said the worker suffered bruising to the legs, not broken bones, and has been released from hospital.

Deline could not provide the location of the work site. She says the ministry has submitted a requirement to Interpaving to provide documentation, but could not elaborate further.

The investigation is ongoing.

Sudbury.com will update this story as new details become available.
