YES Theatre has announced its summer program, consisting of a variety of streamed and in-person events.
The programming will be split between three principal projects:
Live from the Grotto (Aug. 31 - Sept. 19)
The staple of the summer will be their return to in-person performances, featuring three different concerts running in repertory all at the beautiful Sudbury Grotto.
An ensemble of 12 vocalists and a live six-piece band will bring this space to life over the course of three weeks, turning this little slice of Sudbury into an ancient Greek-style performance venue.
Through Rose Coloured Glasses: A concert exploring the life and times of one of music's greatest legends, Elton John.
Ghosts of Broadway: Some of Broadway’s biggest and boldest songs re-interpreted to explore what makes musical theatre so special.
A Song to the Moon: The Women sing some of the world’s greatest hits and explore a path towards change re-examined in the context of the phases of the Moon.
Night Owl Cabaret Series (Various Nights July 16 - Aug. 14 )
After a sold-out cabaret series last fall, YES Theatre is returning with nine different intimate cabaret offerings. These shows are created and performed by favourite YES Theatre artists. All will be live-streamed from Night Owl Studios here in Sudbury. Enjoy an “evening out” from the comfort of your own home.
Take Out Cabarets (July and August)
A made-to-order cabaret delivered right to your front yard. Invite neighbours and family to take to the driveway or the grass for a special one-hour concert presented by YES Theatre artists.
“I cannot wait to welcome back artists and audiences with this newly announced programming. It’s been a long time coming and we have some very special works planned for you, Sudbury!” said Alessandro Costantini, artistic and managing director at YES Theatre.
