YMCA of Northeastern Ontario has announced it will run its summer day camps starting Monday, July 6.

YMCA staff have been hard at work training and learning new procedures so that campers and

families can feel safe this summer and prevent the spread of COVID-19, said a press release from the organization.

“The YMCA of Northeastern Ontario is thrilled to be able to offer day camps this summer.,” said Helen Francis, President & CEO of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario.

“The team has worked hard in consultation with our Public Health Units to make sure we can hold day camps that are both safe and fun! We are really looking forward to seeing our day campers again!”

The safety and well-being of campers, staff and families is the YMCA’s priority and with the

support of local Public Health, we will be implementing new procedures and guidelines.

Families can expect new procedures including; health screening at drop off, frequent handwashing, physical distancing when possible and plenty of outdoor time.

To keep campers and staff as safe as possible, some adjustments have been made to summer camp offerings.

More information about summer camp offerings can be found online here.
