YMCA Employment and Immigrant Services are tying up their shoes once again for the second annual YMCA Job Crawl.
The event will include local businesses opening their doors for the day to give job crawl attendees a look inside their work environment. As well, there will be hiring employers on site at the YMCA Employment Services, 10 Elm Street, Suite 132.
This event will take place on Tuesday Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
“The inaugural job crawl was the first of its kind for this community. It was a refreshingly fun approach to connect job seekers and employers. It lead to many new connections and we are excited to offer this event again this year," said Karen Makela, General Manager, YMCA Employment and Immigrant Services.
Job Crawl attendees are invited to join other job seekers to hunt down predetermined businesses to learn about available employment opportunities, receive personal one on one knowledge about the organizations, and chances to win several great prizes.
This is an inside look into these organizations that most people will never have the opportunity to get. Participants are asked to compile signatures from the participating businesses to be entered in a contest to win some great prizes.
This year, expect to see several new participating businesses in the crawl. Technology, retail, hospitality, and community services are just a few of the sectors represented.
Additionally, The YMCA Employment and Immigrant Services will be hosting a job fair at their office, located in the Rainbow Centre Mall. You can sign up for the job crawl and meet with recruiters from Millennium 1 Solutions, NATT Safety Services, Northern Uniform Services and more.
