Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002 The Ontario Trillium Foundation has announced communities across Algoma, Cochrane, Manitoulin and Sudbury area will benefit from grants totalling just under $1 million.

United Way raffle

Friday, Feb. 1, 2002 United Way is raffling off four tickets to a Toronto Maple Leafs game courtesy of Laamanen Construction. The prize includes return flight to Toronto and one night's accommodation. Tickets are $2 or three for $5.

BPW honours outstanding women

The Business and Professional Women's Club of Sudbury honoured outstanding women in the community Tuesday evening (March 19). Kathryn A. Volf was presented with the Outstanding BPW Woman of the Year Award for her work with the club.

MPP call for investigation

Nickel Belt MPP Shelley Martel has added her voice to those calling for an investigation into the province's current funding system for treatment for children with autism. Currently, the treatment is funded until a child is six.

Feb. 1, 2002 Mickey Teed is directing Theatre Cambrian's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat , which opens Feb. 19, 2002. Owen McLaughlin plays the lead in this musical written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
