Legendary musician and recording artist Prince has died, according to multiple media reports. He was 57.
Prince Rogers Nelson burst on the music scene in 1984 with his film and album Purple Rain, which spawned such hits as the record's title track, Let's Go Crazy and When Doves Cry.
His publicist told The Associated Press the music icon was found dead at his home Thursday.
The singer had reportedly been battling the flu for two weeks, and his private jet was forced to make an emergency landing due a medical condition last week, the website TMZ reported.
But a day later, he appeared at Paisley Park in Minnesota for a concert show and told fans he had recovered.
Other hits included Little Red Corvette, 1999, Cream, Raspberry Beret and Kiss.
