Video: Police arrest man on Bruce Ave. in relation to Wahnapitae shooting

Police make two arrests in shooting case

Greater Sudbury Police apprehended one man following a lengthy stalemate at a Bruce Avenue home Aug. 12.

Using a key, the GSPS tactical unit open the front door of the home and yelled for the man to come out with his hands up or they would release the K-9 unit. A short time later a male left the home with his hands up and was handcuffed by police.

The arrest was made in connection to a shooting this morning in Wahnapitae that left a man seriously injured, but in stable condition.

Police then recovered a four-door Kia Spectra that was abandoned on The Kingsway near Falconbridge Road, as well as a firearm they believe was connected to the incident.

Police have arrested two males for attempted murder but are continuing to look for more people that may have been involved.

In order to protect the integrity of the investigation police are releasing little information at this time.
