ACKERLAND, Melissa

In loving memory of Melissa Ann Ackerland, born May 7th, 1978, who passed away with family by her side at Toronto General Hospital, on August 6th, 2022, at 44 years young. Melissa leaves behind her husband Kyle (née Boutot) after 23 years of marriage. The two met and married within six months and raised their family of five kids, Austin (Julianne), Krystyna (Kody), Ethan, Braeden and Lorelai. Melissa was loved greatly by her parents Dale and Thérèse (née St.Denis) and sister Angela, and predeceased by her sister Dawn. Melissa loved her big family and was over the moon when her grandbabies Benjamin and Charlotte joined the family and when she received the news of a third expected grandbaby (due September). Melissa was quick to make friends with anyone she spoke too and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She will also be missed by her extended family of many aunt's, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Melissa loved spending her time with children and worked many years as a daycare provider as well as a Doula accompanying women in their journeys to becoming mothers. "I carry your heart with me. I carry it in my heart." A celebration of life will be held in her honour at the Colonial Inn in Coniston on October 2nd from 1-4pm.
