In loving memory of Franco Apolloni, 86 years, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20th, 2022 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Giuseppina (Rondini) Apolloni. Loving father of Marzio (Anita), Sergio predeceased 1991 and Giordano “Gord” (Beth). Cherished Nonno of Alexandra (Aaron Bittel), Kristen, Juliana, Casey and Giorgia (Alex). Dear son of Costanzo and Bibiana (Pino) Apolloni both predeceased. Dear brother of Primo (Annunziata) both predeceased, Adalgisa (Dulio Orazietti predeceased) and infant siblings Venusta, Mario and Franco all predeceased. Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews especially Natalina who was like a daughter to Franco. Franco was proud to be a First-Class Mechanic at INCO retiring in 1991 with 38 years of service. He was an Executive Member and Porketta chef at the Copper Cliff Italian Club and the Copper Cliff Maintenance Pension Club. In recognition of dedication and outstanding accomplishments in sports and for his contributions towards development and promotion in the community through sports receiving the volunteer of the year in the Greater Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame. He was involved with boxing for the past 49 years known as the formidable timekeeper and a strong advocate for boxing in Northern Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to Top Glove Boxing Academy. Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may gather from 4-8pm Tuesday. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick’s Church, 39 Walford Rd., Sudbury on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at 11am. Interment in the family plot at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
