It is profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alvin Norman Glenn Armstrong at the age of 74 on June 13th, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Wendy Joyce Armstrong (nee Dufresne). Predeceased by his parents Charles N. Armstrong 1972 and Marion E. Armstrong (nee Coffin) 2006. Predeceased by his sister Marilyn. Alvin leaves behind his children Charles (Christie), Christopher (Natalie), Robert (Laura), and Lucille (Marcel). Alvin was a kind gentle man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, Ashley, Eric, Chantal, Evan, Chance, Caleb, Vanessa, Hannah, Alyssa, Christopher, Avery, Sarah, Corbin, Sophie, and Piper. His great grandchildren Kasha, Hope and Kalvin. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Alvin was a retired Stationary Engineer who loved hunting and fishing. He loved sports, especially baseball, his favourite team was the Blue Jays. Dad, though your smile is gone forever and your hand we cannot touch, still we have so many memories of you we loved so much. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we will never part. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boy Scouts of Canada would be appreciated. A funeral service will be held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Thursday, June 17th, 2021 at 1pm. Cremation with interment of ashes in the family plot at the Sudbury RC Cemetery. Friends may gather after 11am Thursday. Due to Covid-19 directives, a maximum of 25 people in the room at at time and a maximum of 40 people in the chapel. Masks are mandatory.
