In loving memory of Francesco Barberio who, at the age of 91 years passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on January 22, 2022. Beloved husband of Rosaria (predeceased 2020) for 65 happy years. Loving father of Susan (Adriano Simonato), Mary (Joe Puntillo), Joe (Gina), Anita (David Ballantyne), Carmelo (Jennifer). Loving and adored grandfather of Tania (Jim Bartolucci), Christopher Simonato (Kassidy), James Puntillo (Danielle), Michael Puntillo (Owen), Jordan and Jesse Barberio, Isabel Rose and Charles Ballantyne, Brooklyn and Samson Barberio, and great-grandfather of Jacob and Max Bartolucci and Emilia Rose Puntillo.

Sadly missed by a large family and many friends. Born in Aprigliano Italy, Frank came to Canada as a young man of 19. He married the love of his life, Rose, in 1955 in Chapleau where they started their family. Frank devoted his life to his family and proudly built a life for them. He dedicated his working years to carpentry and building and was well known as an expert craftsman. Frank was as proud of being Canadian as he was of his Italian heritage. He will always be remembered for being a very strong, intelligent man who valued family, hard work, integrity, education, and learning. Frank’s legacy is reflected in his children who adored him and his grandchildren and great grandchildren who will cherish many wonderful memories. The cottage he built in 1992 will continue to be a gathering place for all.

And all who knew him would agree that he was a most charming gentleman with sparkling blue eyes. He was generous of spirit and selfless to his last day. The family thank all the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa for their compassionate and loving care and for making his last days as comfortable as possible. We also want to thank Bayshore and the LHIN for their support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or St. Joseph’s Villa would be appreciated. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury.
