1960-2022

In loving memory of Roger William Bechard, who passed away on November 13, 2022 at the age of 62 years.

Beloved father of Jessica and Amber. Loving brother of Richard, Theresa, Anne Martin (Scott), Maurice (Debora), and William.

Cherished son of Laurette Bechard and the late Jean William Bechard. Grandfather to Cash and Lira and Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Roger worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for most of his career. He was also a man of great faith. Roger loved God very much and loved attending his church, the Church of Christ the King.

Roger was a big fan of taekwondo and worked really hard to get his black belt. He also enjoyed playing hockey and watching sports. He loved being at camp and being anywhere outdoors, especially by Ramsey Lake. Roger was a fun man with a great sense of humour, a contagious laugh/smile and a love for life. He was a gentle soul who cared deeply for those around him. Roger spent a lot of time giving back to the community as well as helping those in need wherever he went.

A special thanks to all the staff and doctors at Health Sciences North, Sudbury - specifically Chaplain Kathy Dahmer, Dr. Jordan A. McNeil, and Jenna Ouellette who went above and beyond to care for Roger in his last days. A very special thanks to Chaplain Kathy Dahmer (Health Sciences North) and Father Raymond from Christ the King Church in Sudbury for their compassion and prayers as they helped Roger, especially during his end of life transition.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury with a private gathering at his graveside with his family. In memory of Roger and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Roger’s most favourite church: the Church of Christ the King in Sudbury. Contact the church office to see how you can donate: (705) 674-6447. No donation is too small as Roger would simply appreciate your kind gesture to support the church he loved with all his heart.
