BEGONA, Jose Ramon - In loving memory of Jose Ramon Begona, 81 years, who passed away on Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Beloved husband of Aura (Cubillo) Begona of Sudbury. Loving father of Maria and Paula both of Sudbury. Predeceased by parents Andres and Eugenia Begona, and brother Manolo and Teresa. Sadly missed by good friends Manuel and Gloria Arango, Pablo and Cecilia Cano, and life long friend Francisco Antolin and uncle to Conchita Tudela. Born in Burgos, Spain, he graduated from the University of Salamanca in Spain. Jose was a life long educator, serving as a professor in the Modern Language Department at Laurentian University for 35 years. He was a pioneer for the Spanish people in Canada, the former principal of the Spanish School and an active member of the Hispanic Association. Funeral prayers were held in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Thursday, June 18th, 2009 at 8 pm. (Friends gathered 7 pm to 9 pm Thursday). Thence to a funeral in Madrid, Spain.
