In Loving Memory of
Winston Dwight Belaire
July 31, 1944 - February 2, 2025
Winston passed away peacefully at his home in Sudbury on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the age of 80.
Beloved husband of the late Shirley Ann Pettigrew Belaire.
Loving father of Eric (Ann) Belaire and Kimberly Ann (Steven) Lecompte.
Special grandfather of Tapanga, Mariah and Vanessa. Predeceased by his Mom, Elsie Bowes Belaire Hammel and her loving husband Albert.
Dwight was a fun loving guy who was always quick with a story, a joke, and a smoke. He would help out anyone, and offer a drive to people he knew or didn't.
He never used a 2" screw when a 3" screw would ensure you could swing off of whatever he was building. Dwight drove bus, taxi, cement truck, delivered mail, pizza, and newspapers. He held the Copper Cliff Copper Refinery together as a Crane Operator for 32 years at Inco. The love of his life left him too soon, Shirley was his partner in crime, always by his side going fishing, or going out for coffee. He enjoyed his time at camp on Birch Island and sharing a coffee with his dog Bear. (Bear got the bottom half). He loved his Grandchildren more than words can say and never missed an opportunity to brag about them and show off a photo.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will take place on the 2nd floor of 12 Elgin St., Sudbury on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 5:00pm. Dwight's ashes will rest beside Shirley's this spring.
Donations may be made in Dwight's honour to War Amps, or just go grab a Tim Horton's coffee in his honour. Watch a game of football, have a great nap, watch the sunset while petting your dog, share a joke, or tell a great story to honour Dwight.
