Blackwell, Darren Peter

July 30, 1993 - March 13, 2023

Completed level 29.

We are devastated to announce the sudden passing of Darren Blackwell of Val Caron at the age of 29. Darren passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Monday, March 13, 2023, after a long battle with heart failure and transplant. He is now at peace with no more appointments or doctors’ visits, needles or medications.

Darren truly was one of a kind. A man of quick wit and many dad jokes. He loved to laugh and made sure everyone around him got to laugh too. If he were here to write this obituary he would say “cremation is my last hope for a smokin’ hot body”, being the pun artist he was.

He wasn’t afraid to try new things and always stood up to a challenge head on. In his past time, he loved to game on his computer, draw, watch anime and play DND with his friends among many other things. You could catch him jamming out to metal/punk rock/jpop in the shower each morning. When he would drive you could hear his subwoofer from a block away. He loved spending time and playing with his niece Lauren and the family dog, Goose, who he lived with and took frequent naps with. Darren spent a lot of time with his brother always joking around with each other, playing video games and wrestling when the video game just wouldn’t settle the argument. He was loved by every person that got the chance to meet him.

Anything he cared about he cared about it with his whole heart, even if it was borrowed. To say he will be missed is an understatement.

Darren is the beloved son of Connie Blackwell (Dan), Paul and Jennifer Blackwell. Loving little brother to Scott Blackwell (Kennedy). Absolutely adored uncle of Lauren Blackwell. Cherished grandson of Leonard and Loretta Blackwell (predeceased), Peter Weimann (Susan), Margaret Weimann and Vera Foehr. Much loved nephew of Richard Blackwell (JoAnne), Brian Blackwell (predeceased) and Carol Blackwell-Tyson (Tom).  He will also be missed by the Haner family, the Blackwell family, the Bardell family, the Ayotte family, the Dufort family, the Foehr family and many friends.

Onto the next level, we will see you when we get there.

There will be a Celebration of Darren’s Life at a later date.

The family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
