BOIS, Jean Paul Gérard - Jean Paul Mon Oncle Gerard Bois, son of the late Simeon Bois and Josephine (Cloutier) and long time resident of Wiltshire Street where he built a family home with his dad in Sudbury in 1949, passed away peacefully in his 83rd year at the Sudbury Regional Hospital on June 30th, 2010. Also predeceased by brothers Simeon and Victorin, he was born in Sturgeon Falls Ontario on October 19, 1927. While a frail child challenged early in life with health issues, Jean Paul's love of life and positive attitude aided him in surviving these life trials. He was the life- long best friend to brother Robert Bois (Mary June Billie) and loyal brother to sisters Victorine Leduc (Jean Paul predeceased), Jeanne Bois and Lucille Kingsley (Gerry). Jean Paul's greatest devotion was to family and he was so dearly loved by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews for his kindness, understanding and gentle nature. He took enormous pride in being able to assist them in many ways and in his later years he could still tell you each and everyone's birth, wedding or anniversary dates. Godfather to Claudette Crepeault and Pierre André Bois. Jean Paul retired from Inco in 1982 following 34 years of service. His retirement gave him even more time to do those things he loved. An abiding love for music led Jean Paul to learn to play the guitar, mandolin and banjo. His ongoing thirst for knowledge and love of reading made it so no one dared to challenge him on facts but secretly were fascinated and proud of him as THE reliable source of such a wealth of information. He loved bird watching, history, birthday celebrations, desserts, long walks on the beach, one of the few places he would take his shoes and socks off and going for rides and day picnics with family. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci Church, Coniston. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to Jean Paul's favoured charities: M.A.D.D. or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario (Sudbury Chapter) would be greatly appreciated.
