It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Matthew Ryan Boivin in Garson on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the age of 29 years. Loving husband to Jillian Boivin (Collin). Loving father to Lydia and Leo Boivin. Beloved son to Marc and Donna Boivin (Cushing). Survived by his siblings Marc Jr (Miranda), Ashley (Chris) and Philip. Grandson to Theresa and Don (predeceased) Huntington, Marvin and Jeanine Cushing (both predeceased) and Philip and Simone (predeceased) Boivin. Proud uncle to Lucas, Levi, Logan, Nathan and Truleigh. Also, greatly missed by Don and Joanne Collin, Ryan (Mirelle) and Jesse (Elliot). He will be greatly missed by family, parents, grand-parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, neighbours, co-workers, etc.

Matthew was a big man, with an even bigger heart. He wore his feelings on his sleeve, loved big and wasn’t afraid to show who he truly was. He loved without question and made friends everywhere he went.  He was gentle, kind and caring.

He had a passion for the outdoors. He loved going for nature walks, hunting and fishing, whether it be on his own or with his family and friends. He enjoyed sports, snowmobiling, riding his ATV’s and dirt bikes. Being a licenced mechanic, he could fix anything he put his mind to. He loved music and enjoyed playing his guitars. Often, he would be seen strumming on the guitar and singing.

Above all else though, the most important thing in life to Matthew was his family. He wouldn’t go a day without telling everyone he loved them. His genuine, solid, double armed hugs will be greatly missed. His smile was infectious, and his laugh brought joy to everyone around him. He enjoyed spending time with others and often reached out to see how they were or just to see if they wanted to hang out. He loved family.

He was blessed with the gift of gab alongside a huge heart, an open mind, and a curious nature. Matthew was driven, focused (even if it was on many things at once) and liked working with his hands. He always had ideas of things he wanted to do and accomplish and jumped into motion.

Matthew was brilliant and it only took meeting him to know he was special. Matthew was always on the go, continuously looking for the next adventure or friendship.

Matthew lives on in Lydia, the way she gets excited when she finishes a task. He lives on in Leo, the way he looks at people with awe and amazement. Both children have his gift of gab, even if Leo’s words aren’t fully formed yet. They also have the gift of brightening your day with their big smiles and laughter like their daddy. Matthew loved his children to no end and wanted nothing but the best for them in life. Lydia and Leo have Matthew’s immensely bright light. They shine; He shone. He will be greatly missed without measure.

Although Matthew is in Heaven with the Lord, it’s not “goodbye”, it’s only a time “until we meet again”. He lives on in his children and the hearts and memories of his family and friends.

Not a day will go by without missing you Matthew. We all love you to the moon and back!!
