The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Erwin Emile Brosseit on Sunday May 9, 2021 at the age of 91 years. Loving husband of Elfriede Brosseit (predeceased). Dear father of Margriet Koenig (Rick) of Kitchener, and Monika Schuehlein (Robert) of Timmins. Loving grandfather of Sarah Matches (Shawn) and Daniel Koenig. Great grandfather to Ellie and Jacob Matches. Loving brother of Irmgard Potika (pre-deceased in Germany). Dear Uncle to Ingrid Nordmeyer of Germany and dear Uncle to Monika Muller (Arndt) of Germany. Loving Brother-in-law of Erika Schmietendorf of Germany. Erwin came to Canada in 1950 from Germany. He worked in Toronto as a Volkswagen mechanic. Then he moved to Kapuskasing to work for Abitibi Lumber till he moved to Sudbury to work for Vale Inco from 1951 to his retirement in 1986. The family would also like to thank the Staff at Extendicare Timmins, and specially all the Nurses and PSW’s in the Big Water unit for taking such good care of our father. He will be missed by his family and friends. In light of the current pandemic, a private family service will take place at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on May 18, 2021 @ 11:30 a.m. Donations to Christ Lutheran Church, 266 Spruce St. North in Timmins and the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
