With great sadness the Caldbick Family announces the passing of George Charles Caldbick in Ottawa on Sunday, June 26th at the age of 96 years. Beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Gerry) Caldbick (nee Ogilvie) and special friend to the late Lucy Singleton. George was the loving father to Jennifer, Ward (Sharon), Craig (Monica) and Mark. Loving Papa to Evan (Nadja), Samuel (Abha) great granddaughter Ananya, Jack (Ellen) and Grace (Eric).

George was the eldest son of Samuel and Doris Caldbick of Timmins and dear brother of Geoff (Joanne) and brother in law of Margaret and uncle to cherished nephews and nieces. Predeceased by brothers John (Nora) and Peter.

George was born and raised in Timmins. He served overseas with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry of the Canadian Army from 1944-46. He was a salesman with General Electric in northeastern Ontario before entering the teaching profession. He moved his family to Levack in 1963 and was teacher/vice-principal at Levack Public School for many years and Chelmsford Public School before retiring. He spent much of his retirement in Ottawa surrounded by family and friends.

A celebration of life will be scheduled in late August. A special thank you to the incredibly dedicated staff on Rideau 2 South for the excellent care and friendship they provided.
