CAPALBO, Teresa Amalia (nee Mauro) - In loving memory of Teresa Amalia (nee Mauro) Capalbo, 91 years, who passed away Friday, July 24th, 2009 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Center. Born August 2nd, 1917 in Cellara, Cosenza, Italy, she immigrated to Canada with her husband and daughter in 1960, settling in Sudbury. Teresa worked at Ceccutti's Bakery for many years. She was a devoted Roman Catholic and dedicated member of Our Lady of Hope Parish. Teresa was a true Italian, she loved family gatherings, preparing and serving sumptuous food to family and friends. She took great pride in everything she did, from cooking the wonderful food to growing her beautiful house plants. Teresa was a woman in control of her life and she died peacefully with dignity. Thank you to the staff at 5th floor St. Joseph's Health Centre and 2nd Floor Extendicare York for their kindness and care, special thanks to the “angels“ who gave such love, Pamela, Brenda, Toni and Lucia. Beloved wife of Carmine Capalbo predeceased 1995. Loving mother of Nina Sinclair (partner Egidio Schietroma) of Sudbury. Cherished nonna of Paul Sinclair of Toronto and Pamela (husband David Sauerbrei) of Calgary. Dear daughter of Vincenzo and Rosina (Mascaro) Mauro both predeceased. Dear sister of Carolina Cundari (husband Alessandro) and Pasquale Cosco (wife Marietta) all predeceased. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennen St. Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery.
